So not fair that we have to wait months to find out what happens next....
There is so much going on in this book, it is not just focused on Hunter and Corinne. It shows us what's going on with the Order as a whole, what the other couples are up to, how far Chase has gone off the deep end, and how truly far Dragos is willing to go to win. Hunter and Corinne are a very sweet story, and one that will take this series to a new level now that they have saved her son. Their journey was almost separate from the rest, but still brings the war with Dragos back to a new turning point. Chase falls hard from the path, and gets extremely close to becoming Rogue, but his story does not end with his arrest, that's what we have to wait to find out in Darker after Midnight. I've given too much away already, so I will just say that this is a MUST READ if you are a Midnight Breed fan. I have always been an avid fan of the Midnight Breed series, and this one holds true and does not disappoint. It will go on my permanent bookshelf with the others. If you are new to to this series, run out right now and start at the beginning, I'm sure you'll fall in love with the Warriors too.

For me this is an in-between book to get the story where it needs to go. I didn't feel like the affection between Hunter and Corinne was genuine.

I enjoyed this book a lot but I didn't love this book the way I love so many others by this author. I felt very disconnected from the main characters. This was supposed to be Hunter and Corrine's story but it just didn't feel like it. It felt as if they were more a side story while the main story was everything that was going on with The Order. They just seemed to be overshadowed by everyone else.
I really enjoyed getting to know more about the stoic Hunter. The scene where he finds out about his past nearly broke my heart. Even after seeing his past and getting to know him I still felt like we were missing something from him. I don't think we really got inside his head and got to know him as a man rather than a no-feeling bred assasin.
As for Corrine, I found her very annoying for the first half of the book. I understand that she went through a very trying ordeal but she was just so helpless and needy. I think that once she was around Hunter she began to open up and became a different person. It just took some time getting there with her.
Hunter and Corrine were great together but I would have liked to have seen more from them. Their HEA just felt rushed and some things felt like they were missing. I understand that the author is setting things up for her next book, but with doing so we lost the connection between the two main characters.
Now with that being said I did enjoy seeing some of the others POV. After reading about Sterling Chase in this book I honestly cannot wait to read his book, especially with the way things were left off. I'm just so anxious for his story. I have been a big fan of Chase's throughout the series and with the turn of events in this book I just can't wait until January.

OMG! This book is an EXCELLENT addition to the Breed series. I was in the middle of another book from another author, but this one kept calling to me. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. As another review stated, there is a lot going on in this book. If you've read all the others before it, it will answer questions you didn't realize you had.
I was excited when I read the teaser from Taken by Midnight. Hunter hasn't been presented in a way that would make you think there was a story to tell. Other than his affection for Mira, he has been portrayed as one dimensional, as a cold-hearted death dealer. It made me wonder how his story could be told before Chase's. The ending was surprising - much more of a cliff-hanger than any of the other books.
Now I have to figure out how to go back to the other book I was reading with any measure of excitement, as it pales by comparison.

Stone cold emotionless killer Hunter has a soft and tender feelings towards Corinne Bishop a breedmate that was held against her will for over 50 years by the depraved Dragos. Little did Hunter know the she has a 13 year old son that was taken away from her at birth, and she is on a mission to find and save him. In the process Hunter has found a ledger and it all about the first assassin that Dragos crated, and is stunned to realized that the first was none other then Hunter him self.

Best book in the series by far!
Spoiler Alert:
I did find Hunter's transformation a little less than polished. I think a little more back story possibly would have helped. A more gradual transformation. Just my take.

I was extremely impressed with this book. I have read all the books in this series and most of them were okay, some were a little worse.
Adrian is often accused of copying JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. But while Ward's series has been lacking steam for me for the past few books, Adrain's Midnight Breed series is definitely getting better. I find myself looking forward to her next book (which hopefully will be about Sterling Chase and Tavia Fairchild) and have pretty much stopped reading Ward's series all together.
There was a lot of movement in the overall plot compared to the other books which in turns shortchanged Hunter and Corrine a bit. I didn't mind though and was glad I didn't have to sit through chapters and chapters of frustrating miscommunications and assumptions that are often so prevalent in romance novels. It was a nice story and I thought it highlighted nicely what a sweetheart Hunter could be. Although there weren't going to get voted for the sexiest couple, they surely had my vote for the most well-matched couple.
I absolutely loved the direction of Chase's story. I didn't think I would but it worked. Also Drago was a smart cookie which was nice to have a villain that did something clever.
There were a few minor problems with the story I had but that was exactly what they were: minor. Amelie, Savannah's sister who happened to be an elderly African American women, referred to Corrine as "child" in every possible sentence. It was really annoying. Okay, we get that she was African American. Making her say "child" a few thousand times didn't make her more "ethnic." Plus given that Corrine had twenty years on Amelie it seemed like their relationship should have been different. Amelie acted like the elderly sage while Corrine was the lost little girl. My last problem with the book is a personal pet peeve and I'm sure most people wouldn't care. When writing about a home birth, I wished Adrian did some research on it first. Really a home birth with an experienced midwife is nothing like a birth at a hospital with a doctor/midwife. The birth scene wasn't very accurate by but it could have been far worse.
Other than those minor details, I really enjoyed this book. It was a pleasant surprise and I think Adrian has improved so much as an author. I really look forward to see where she will go with this series. Even though I know I said some of the other books in the series aren't great, I think you really have to read at least a few of them to appreciate this one.

I really love the entire series, they are all on my shelf waiting to be read for the 2 and 3rd time!! love the world, love the men and their unique strong women, and hope she writes more.
