Mass market paperback, abridged (if you've ever read the original, you'd understand why).

A good abridgement of a classic.

I highly recommend reading Democracy in America. I do not highly recommend this version - some of the "abridging" that was done deleted out some of the less flattering views of Americans that De Tocqueville expressed. In other words, this is how this particular translator wished De Tocqueville to have written about America. Choose another version if you actually want to know what DT said.
Classic analysis of the American Democracy written 1n 1832, but accurate for today's political climate. His insights were amazing.
This book was used for my political science college class. I thought this man understood America in the early years but not so much today.
The classic and one and only..
