I often find myself hesitating to read another book in this series since I'm not especially fond of the time period or its political intrigue. But once I get into a few chapters I find myself ignoring my other open books and reading this one to see how it all comes out.
At the end, the author has a page or two describing how the political intrigue in the books was based on actual events.

Anyone interested in English medieval murder and mystery will enjoy this series of Hugh Corbett, master clerk and spy for King Edward III.
Written in the vein of his Brother Anselem series which really need to be read in sequence to follow the lives and years of their exploits.
