The Caruthers Sisters do more than walk the Red Carpet - in their "spare" time, they save the universe as Guardian Keys. Each sister was born with talents that are specific to protecting a particular universe. All possessing the ablity to teleport to anywhere in the universe with a quick touching together of their wrists. This book is about the oldest of the Caruthers sisters - Gillian. A lawyer and CEO by day, she is tasked with protecting the King of the demon universe, Maunra. She quickly learns the new King - Arath, is not the typical demon; he is much more powerful than any demon she has come up against or protected. Through the book we discover secret family deals. The family deals with protecting the universe from the BIG EVIL that wants to possess all worlds. Gillian learns that not all demons are demonic...
Great read - very fast. First of a series, with the second being Dragons Prefer Blondes. Hope more are forthcoming.

Paranormal/ Fantasy romance by Candace Havens. Gillian and her sisters are jet-setting socialites by day, and Guardians of the Earth in between Galas. They are all dazzlingly beautiful, deadly with weopons, and brilliant. Gillian is a Guardian, and Ambassador to the Demon world. Of course, betrayal and chaos are threatening, and the new Demon King is Hot. Didn't care for this book. I didn't particularly care about Gillian or her sisters. Lots of action, which moved along so fast, its hard to keep up. Too many secondary characters to keep track of. No real depth to the characters. The most attractive thing about this book is the pretty cover. Sequels are coming. Gillian has about 4 sisters. Recommend you don't buy it new.

Good read. If you've read her Charmed books, this is very similar in feel. A kick-butt heroine who maintains THREE fabulous lifestyles, one as executive for the family megacorp, one as an international art gallery owner, and one as the Demon Assassin who protects Earth and other worlds. [I don't know about you, but I thought three was a little bit greedy - most of us don't even have one!] The worlds are sliding into chaos, evil runs rampant, and the demons have a new king - one that just makes all our heroine's 'girly bits' sit up and take notice. What's a Guardian to do?
The humor is the redeeming feature of this book - a fun, quick read.
The sequel [you know there's going to be a series, she has several sisters who are also Guardians] is scheduled for July: Dragons Prefer Blondes

This was my first book by Candace Havens. Normally I like errotic books more than paranormal however I started this book one afternoon and read it all in one night. Even though the creatures are all other wordly this book was easy to read and had a good story. I look forward to reading the rest of the stories.
