I've read countless true crime novels, and just when I thought I had read the sickest of them all, along comes "Deranged". Not for the faint of heart. Excellent true crime.Set in the 20's and 30's, people were a lot more naive about the dangers of the world then, but this book proves there were sickos even then.

On June 3 1928, a kindly, elderly benefactor showed up at the Budd family home and offered to take their daughter, Grace, to a niece's birthday party. Grace was never seen or heard from again and it would take six years for the ghastly truth of what happened to emerge. I read a fair amount of true-crime stories, and this is one of the most gruesome I've ever read. Highly recommend this if you're into the true-crime genre.

There aren't many books that get to me but this one was one. The thought of this man eating the genitals of children or cannabalism itself was just disgusting. The writing of this story was very good as are his other books. Albert Fish was something we can never understand. Just wondered about all the other children that disappeared and their families. For true crime buffs you shouldn't miss reading this one if you can handle it.
