This was a fantastic quick read by Larry McMurtry. It reminded me a great deal of Terms of Endearment, because it is about the mother daughter bond. If you enjoyed Terms of Endearment, you will enjoy this one.

THE DESERT ROSE is tough, loving portrait of an unforgettable women and that most American cities, rended with all the keen insights and deep warmth so evident in LARRY McMURTY'S TEXASVILLE and LONESOME DOVE.
