Although I really like some of this author's books (Sophie Kinsella), this was a really bad one. There were about 10 main characters, none of whom were likeable, (Ok, well, Jonathan, the cuckolded husband became someone you couldn't help but like at the very end, and Daniel Witherstone, the son, you can't help but find him appealing because he just tries so hard). She didn't flesh any of them out, they were just paper dolls, flimsy and without substance cliches (the cheating wife, the oblivious husband, the bratty and truly unlikable daughter, the cheating executive, his pushy/perfect wife who walked all over him, etc.) Definite library book vs. one for the keeper shelf, save your credit, you won't want to own and re-read it.

This was a little unexpected from Wickham/ Kinsella! I enjoyed it though! I was a little surprised that it was rated so low on here. I loved the ending. It was a little expected, not sure if you were expected to expect it, but I kinda did. To me it shows that good people can make mistakes and that even if you make a mistake it doesn't mean that you should be the evil character. Humans are flawed characters. Overall, it was a great read. I pretty much read it through in two sittings. Had to make myself sleep for about five hours. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who loves chick lit without all the sex!

I read this book in one sitting. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Madeline Wickham is a pseudonym of Sophie Kinsella of "Shopaholic" fame. I highly recomend this book. It was really cute and light reading like the rest of her books. :)
