Ryan Kowalski is back in his hometown working on his family's Northern Star Lodge, when he runs into Lauren Carpenter. Fifteen years ago, Ryan asked Lauren to leave her husband and run away with him, but she turned him down. Feeling embarrassed, Ryan just want to avoid her. But that doesn't happen when he catches Lauren's sixteen-year-old son, Nick, vandalizing the lodge. When Nick has to work at the lodge to pay for the damages, Lauren and Ryan are once again thrown together.
Contemporary Romance is not a favorite genre for me, but I really enjoy Shannon Stacey's Kowalski family series. Not only do we get a good story with lots of romance, but it also has dialogue that feels real. The supporting characters in this book are wonderful, as is the whole Kowalski clan. There are several hilarious moments in this book, especially the conversation between Ryan and Lauren's father. My only problem is I felt the book wrapped up a little too quickly. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
