Sweeping across eons, the immortal protagonists in Shayne's latest romantic fantasy are united once again after 4000 years of separation when Nathan (Eannatum) sees a newspaper photograph and recognizes Nidaba, a girl he had known in Sumer so many years ago and has never forgotten. But their reunion does not unnoticed, and the Dark Ones. who have been waiting for centuries to exact their vengeance, are determined to succeed. Intense, mystical, and lyrical, this novel takes a pair of powerful witches torn apart by an ancient evil and brings them full circle back to love
Excellent read!!!
She is Nidaba--an immortal High Witch so ancient, so legendary, that for thousands of years she has been the ultimate prize, relentlessly pursued by Dark Witches. She has eluded all who would kill her...until a mother's grief makes her reckless and she is captured by a madman. After endless physical and mental torment, she escapes, but her captivity has damaged her spirit as well as her body. And though the wounds to her body have healed, the scars on her mind and soul remain...
Nathan King now has the peace he craved in the life he created for himself--until the day he sees her again. Can it really be Nidaba--the love he thought lost to him so many centuries ago? But the woman he finds is not the fierce, proud girl of his cherished memories--now her eyes are haunted by a pain so deep, and a hatred so bitter it divides them still. But if he is to understand the source of her anguish and reclaim the passion that was once theirs, he must face the truth that the evil that tore them apart once again stands between them and their chance at forever...

Part 3 of Maggie Shayne's immortals series. The series is very violent but I did enjoy all 3 books.
Another one for fantasy/mystery/romance readers. Readers of all ages would love this book (18+).
Meet Nidaba, an immortal High Witch: her life is a fascinating look at the idea of Witchcraft, history and reality. Born to have only one true mate, she lives thousands of years, before finally she meets the man for whom she was destined. Truly an awesome series...Destiny, Infinity, and Eternity.
This was a hard book to put down. It jumped between the past and present day so if you don't like that type of time line, don't read it. That said, the format helped to create that "I just can't put it down!" feeling.
This is the 3rd book in the series. You can read it alone, but the first two books are a good reference for a couple of the characters.

I read this series and enjoyed it. The magic was nice, the plots were well written, and she wrote with a cadence I enjoyed. Then I read Destiny, this book will be a go to book for me. I couldn't put it down, and when I had too I was talking about it incessantly. I loved the history of the characters and detail of their past. I Highly recommend it.
