I trust Penguin to bring out only the best in crime stories, and I'm sure this is a good one for that reason (I haven't read it). And the reason I haven't read it is that the gothic angle (read blurb on back cover) doesn't appeal to me. The fact that our heroine is a harpsichordist does.
