I love all the books about the Knight family.
The female main character in this book is Lizzie who grew up as a companion to the Knight brother's sister Lucinda. More like their sister than a companion, Lizzie really is part of the family. Intrigue plus love make for a good read. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have to say that this was one of the most intense romance novels that I have read in a long time. My family thought I was a woman possessed as I could NOT sit still and read this in continuity. I plan on reading this again and hopefully I will be able to breathe during the second reading.

Regency romance - Devlin Strathmore returns to England after years on the high seas to try & avenge his dead family. His aunt introduces him to her companion, Lizzie Carlisle. Instant attraction. Good suspense.

Great novel, part of wonderful series of siblings, some of my favorite characters ever!

This was not as good as Lord of Fire of Lord of Ice but it was still enjoyable. I had a hard time believing the tension in the plot, but overall it was an enjoyable read. I think that comes from my love of wounded male lead characters. I'm such a sucker for those. I think this story merely served to wrap up the loose ends of "Lizzie." Had this been a stand alone book I might have enjoyed it even more.

I do like how Lizzie refused to give in. Some of the scenes were hilarious, like when Dev kidnapped Lizzie from her school using a ladder. That was just plain comical.

Excellent book in the Knight series about Devlin earl of strathmore aka "devil" strathmore and Lizzie Carlyle, former companion to Jacinda Knight.

Devlin is bent on revenge, trying to determine who caused the inn fire that killed his entire family. He must choose between revenge and the love of the only woman he's ever loved. Can she heal him before it's too late for both of them.

Like all of Foley's books, there's a great depth of character development and an emotional intensity absent from most other authors. Very good and steamy romance, with appealing characters.

Devlin is the hero bent on avenging his family's tragic death in a fire. The heroine is the hero's aunt's companion. Devlin admires her devotion to his aunt. Despite her sharp tongue, he's intrigued by Elizabeth's strength and passion. But before Devlin can be free to love, he will have his revenge on the notorious noblemen responsible for his parents' deaths. Great romantic suspense. Intense emotions.

A very enjoyable read: romance, mystery, danger.

First off, not totally enamored of the title, but sometimes romance novels can be a little cheesy. It was good, enjoyable, solid. Probably not something I will ever have to read again. The story was very compelling, but not altogether believable. This particular book made me dislike the character of Alec Knight more than the previous books, so not sure how reading his story next will be because he is not exactly a sympathetic hero. Which is one the problems of this book -you come away thinking more about him than the two people who were the main characters. Keep it on your list, but don't bump anything else for it.
