I've read and enjoyed most of the Crok O'Connor mysteries. This is a stand alone, and I thought it was well done.

Not in the "Cork" series. The setting is Mpls-St.Paul area. Secret Service agent is to protect the wife of President who is in danger because of bureaucratic shenanigans. I liked interwoven plots.
