Garth Stein meets Janet Evanovich. Well, maybe a little like each. It has a divorce, a cognitive dog, and the author decribes enough of Seattle to make the scene familiar(I wonder how much Alpo she got from Pete's Market for mentioning them). But if you're looking for pathos, it's closer to One For The Money than The Art of Racing in the Rain.

Another good cozy mystery by the team - definitely a fun read.
