Don't let the topic scare you away. This reads like a thriller. The historical background gives a face to what you have on your ring finger.

Written like an adventure novel, gives the recent history (the past 40 years or so) of diamond exploration. Sometimes hard to follow the characters, because they seem to keep being coopted by the big diamond giant, De Boers, who definitely is cast as the villian.
