This book is the soul of old science fiction. To wit, it has great ideas but the story itself is a bit secondary. It was very interesting to read but the plot did not catch me.
Interesting plot idea, but I gave up only 22 pages into the book (by far a record low for me). The book has loads of terminiology, so much it felt like a scientific journal publication; for me it was a ton of work to read, which made it not enjoyable to read.
Mind bending. Not for everybody, but if you like Greg Egan, you will love this one.
