This story is based on the unlikely friendship of a Southern college student and a negro slave. The story line keeps the readers interest and leaves one wondering what became of the main character.

This is a first edition. The story is an intense drama of a white Southerner, son of a prosperous plantation owner, and a black slave, who work toward a mutual goal. I have a special fondness for this story as my ancestors were Quakers (a Quaker family is key in this story).
