Summary:
Arlo Santiago is into extreme. He loves to ride his dirt bike throughout New Mexico and play the game Drone Pilot. In fact, he has the high score. This leads him into an unexpected situation. Arlo is recruited by the Air Force to fly a real military drone in Pakistan. Arlo takes it all on as he deals with the slow destruction of his family. His mother unexpectedly died, his father is killing himself with alcohol, and his sister is suffering from Huntington's disease. With so much on his plate, how can Arlo possibly handle it all?

My thoughts:
I wasn't expecting much from this book. I figured it would be a good sports novel with descriptions of awesome dirt bike tricks that would get my heart pumping, but that was it. It far surpassed my expectations. There are definitely heart pumping scenes on both the dirt bike and the drones that Arlo flies. There is way more to him than that though. The true story is about dealing with grief and caring about family. Arlo wants desperately to pull his falling family back together. He has such a huge heart and there are times where I wanted nothing more than to sit down with his father and point out what he really should be doing. This is a story where you will fall in love with Arlo and root for him the whole way through. Also, it has enough adrenaline that a reluctant male reader will also scoop it up and enjoy the fun.
