I enjoyed it because it had a story line that was engaging and compelling -- enough to earn a five star rating. The heroine is gutsy, a figher, and takes life on--on her own terms. The hero is a selfish, egotistical--jerk. He did not threaten to slash her physically but he sure did emotionally slash her--AND did more damage than that other blackmailer would have. The hero did not have ANY redeeming qualities and I wondered why any women under the same circumstances could love someone like this. That any human being would set out to ruin another -- who has nothing -- because of such a huge ego...is not a hero. I could see how HE would love HER because she has a lot of courage. But HE never played the role of protector...and we ALL know that is the role of the hero.
