Quirky characters help Scotland Yard's Superintendent Richard Jury solve murders (and entertain along the way).
Fun read, quirky characters and a good twist at the end.
Delightful early Inspector Jury mystery.
This is an excellent mystery with an intriguing and complex plot. The author gives clues as to who the murderer might be. First, three women are murdered in the same gruesome fashion and a boy disappears. While Richard Jury investigates the murders and boys's disappearance he finds few clues to provide the answers to his questions..
Many of the Americans in the targeted tour group are impressions. Readers should remember that these people are the very wealthy who were accustomed to getting whatever they want whenever they want it. All they have to do was pay for it and/or use the power that money gave them to assure their preferred actions. The tour group continues to be targetted by this vicious murderer when a young man dies.. When the solution reveals itself to Jury with this last murder, it provides an unusual and surprising ending for Jury and readers alike. Well written tale! I really liked this one.

I LOVE Martha Grimes and the bunch at Long Piddleton! Richard Jury is a hunk, and the books are a great mix of British murder mystery and quirky humor. Many great characters. You must read the first 3 books first!
A great read...Martha Grimes is an amazing author...I could not put the book down. Read it during a 3 day weekend.
This one had a little too much Shakespeare and Marlowe in it for me. Either someone was murdered or I was reading about how Marlowe died. I still like the characters and the mystery. Still recommending.
A Shakespearean type of mystery.
