Mike Resnick writes: This collection was originally titled Shaggy B.E.M. Stories and was compiled exclusively for the 1988 Worldcon (Nolacon II). Seventy-five percent of the original edition sold out over the Worldcon weekend and the rest disappeared soon after.
...after a dozen years or so...decided it was time to bring it out again, ...was sold to Byron Preiss, who promptly re-titled it Dirty Rotten Aliens. Money changed hands...paid all the writers a second time--and then Byron was killed in a tragic accident, and the book never came out..
The collection of stories (the second edition, proudly wearing yet its third title) now available this time: Bug-Eyed Monsters and Bimbos, published by Phoenix Pick Sep2011.
