From the back of the book--
Resourceful young Marion Verkerk arrives at "the Warbler" as the new governess to Baron Reinier Van Herewaarden's little daughter, Inge, whose beautiful mother lies dying of cancer in a nearby hospital.
Sweet yet exuberant, Marion soon begins to transform the gloomy cottage into a warm, pleasant home. Her devotion to Inge grows with each passing day. But she is confused by her feelings for the moody, troubled baron. Her life is further complicated when she falls in love with a handsome, charismatic artist, Jaap Dubois, whose bohemian life-style is at odds with her strong faith.
Loved by both men, can Marion trust her heart to make the right choice?...

I love this book! It reminded me of Jane Eyre with the wife in the background. Reinier is a wealthy businessman with a small daughter. His wife is sick in the hospital and Marion comes to care for small Inge. Reinier is moody due to the difficult circumstances he finds himself in and is harsh at times yet he begins to warm to Marion's gentle ways. I won't ruin the plot but through twists and unexpected turns this story warms your heart. I hope to read the sequels too.
