The final book in this trilogy is excellent sci-fi, as were the first two. Emphasis is on the development of characters and the interaction of species. each of which isn't sure, to various degrees, they should deal with one another. Sorry, no major space battles with entire fleets being destroyed. This sci-fi trilogy is more like a mystery, fashioned by one of the great sci-fi and fantasy authors. I've enjoyed all of his books.
