Gibbons makes it so easy to get into her stories, after a couple of pages I was lost in the culture of 1918 and I was not surprised at all reading about the treatment of Maureen by her husband Troop. The story has a great flow. These characters will stay with me a long time.

Incredibly gifted author! Interesting study of different women's roles in the early 20th century, juxtaposing educated upper class and rural lives.
