I stayed up until 2 AM reading this book, and it brought me to tears several times. This is not just another feel-good dog memoir: it is a story about a young woman's struggles with depression, and how caring for her dog, along with a supportive family and friends and medication, brought her back to living. Bunker struggles with severe hip problems, and through each other, Bunker and his Mom find wellness.
The author's descriptions of her struggles with mental illness are raw and real, and will resonate with anyone who has also suffered from depression.
This book is beautifully written. I highly recommend it.
