Pretty good, not quite as humorous as Gerald Durrell's writings on dogs or as tender as J. Herriot's. Still it is worth reading if you spend time with these quadrupeds.

This book will change the way you look at dogs as best friends, forever. The dog is very much not a wolf, as some people think. This biologist applies sound science to advance ones understanding of the origins of the dog, the ways of working dogs and how humans have influenced dogs'evolution, development, and behavior. Learn about dogs thousands of years after dogs stop being wolves, before they became pets. They are actually a self-domesticated species with a mind of their own. Interesting for breeders as well, although it appeals to the dog lover too.
