I like the character, Detective Stonecoat, and I've read a couple of those books that I liked fairly well, but this one was a disappointment: it is supposed to be about 'the snatcher' but by half way into the book it has barely touched on that part of the story and instead the focus is on an old cold case he is supposed to be working on too, then you have the psychic and that part just didn't seem real to me--so I quit at about the half way point of the book, maybe it brings everything together but getting there was getting boring.
