WOW! Great mystery - engaged me in trying to solve it and sort through all the characters. I never suspected the ending. As a fan of the series, I kind of felt like there was a book missing. But it's been a while since I read the last one in the series, so maybe I have just forgotten some things. Overall, a great entry in the series and I have to applaud Ms. Davidson for her continued ability to thrill & interest!

This book is a cozy mystery that is not too scary to read at night.
Goldy doesn't discover the body until the storyline is in place.
These mysteries have little profanity and are a good read with
good recipes. While I haven't used any recipes from this book (yet),
I have from others.

I am a big fan of Diane Mott Davidson's books they are a great read and always keep you guessing right up to the end. This book was no exception it was a great read.
Great author. I don't typically enjoy the food thrillers, but these are fairly good books.
Culinary mystery book with fun characters. I really enjoyed this book.
This book is one of her best yet.
Very funny.
Another culinary murder mystery; this time, one of the main characters in the series is killed.
It's been awhile since I've read Diane Mott Davidson - seems there's a longer gap between the books than in the past. Double Shot is a slight departure from the Goldy Schultz catering series in that there isn't the usual angst and mouth watering delights amongst the pages - in the past the recipes would taunt you from the pages of the book through Mott Davidson's descriptions and while there is some of that especially in Tom's Italian sandwich concoction it's not as prevelant as in past books.
Without giving away too much, wondering how the next book will pan out. Angst or no angst.

Cute story and the recipes in the back sound great although I didn't try any of them.
Caterer supreme Goldy Schulz has more on her plate than she can handle. Her ultra-charming, ultra-wealthy, and seriously psychopathic ex-husband, Dr. John Richard Korman (aka The Jerk) is free now that the governor has commuted his prison sentence.
Good murder mystery.
the best "Goldy" book yet.
Great book. Great food mystery series.
Denver Post says it's her best book...I agree. Had a hard time putting it down. This time Goldy was the suspect. Lots of twists and turns. I thought this one and that one, but was surprised at who the killer finally turned out to be and why.
I didn't like this as much as some of the other Goldy mysteries. The subject matter was very "adult." Let's just say I wouldn't want my 13 year old daughter to read it.
Nice easy read, always interested in seeing what Goldie is up to.
if you like this series, this is a great addition. Features all the "family" characters and has a complex plot with a trademark happy ending--and yummy recipes as usual!
another great mystery with some recipes to try
Good quick read, somewhat better than the previous ones.
Loved Double Shot as much as every other Culinary mystery by Diane Mott Davidson.
Goldy is at it again. Great recipes and a murder
What more could a person want? A good mystery with great recipes!!
Caterer Goldy Schulz series
I read every book in this series and liked them all.
Godly Bear strikes again
I think this is the original mystery-with-recipes series and it is better than several others I have since read. A cook friend swears by the recipes! I would recommend reading the first ones first, and then it is less important to read them in order I think.
Keeps you guessing all the way to the end, with a surprise ending - but it absolutely makes sense and is not a 'stretch' by any definition of the word. The second half of the book really is what convinced me - I will read more of Davidson's books in the future. Besides, there are some mighty tasty-sounding recipes included!
another great mystery plus great recipes!
A good read!
Diane Mott Davidson keeps Goldy going. Her son is a bit weird, but all of the series are really good. They have some pretty good recipes included! Light mystery. Enjoyable.
She just get's better and better !!! love all her books.
Again another great book. Love this author and watch for her new ones. Also love the recipes she includes in her books!!
Goldy the caterer is such an endearing character. And she's very clever, too! One of my favorite series ever!
Good, different mystery.
I love Diane Mott Davidson's Goldy Bear Mysteries. This one does not disappoint. Recipes included.
I always enjoy these books as a light read. The recipes sound so good! This one has strawberry pie and enchilada pie. I intend to try both!
Thought this one was fairly good. Enjoyed. Also got rave reviews for the pork chops I marinated according to directions.
one of he best.
Love this lady's writiting when I'm in need of an entertaining book that takes me to my favorite state-Colorado, and deals with some of my favorite things-mysteries, and food.
This series is such a good read! It has mystery with a great sense of humor!
12th in the Goldy Bear (caterer) series
Goldy's ex-husband, aka "The Jerk", gets released from prison...need I say more? If you haven't read this one, do!
I've read all her previous books in this series & this is one of the best. I haven't tried any of the recipes that are included in the book, but they all sound great!
Very cute cozy
Goldy is framed for her ex-husbands murder. She fights to find the true murderer. With surprise around everycorner. Actual recipes at the end of the book that she uses in her story.
Caterer supreme Goldy Schulz has more on her plate than she can handle including her ultra charming and wealthy and psychopathic ex-husband (aka "the jerk"). Her plans for catering affairs are sabotaged and all seems lost.
The Denver Post says "Her best book" and I agree. When her ex-husband, the JERK, is released from jail, Goldy is apprehensive, but the problem is solved for her. Someone murders John Richard Korman with two strategically placed shots. And guess who is suspect # 1?
Can't wait to see the new direction for Goldy. Like the ending of an era in this one. Enjoy it.
Not the best of Davidson's books, but a quick snack of a book that will do in a pinch. The familiar characters make this book more enjoyable, but don't choose this as your first Goldy Bear Shultz book. Some of the recipes look pretty good, but I didn't try them out.
this book of goldy and family and friends is full of some big surprises, recipes at the end of the book, i enjoyed it
Now that her terminally bothersome exhusband is free, Goldy's life is again in turmoil. Someone is out to frame her for murder and sabotage her catering business. Is it the same person, is there possibly more than one person out to destroy Goldy? Along with always mouthwatering recipees is another mystery that practically turns the pages for you. Can't wait for the next in the series Dark Tort.
Another great one by Davidson!
The divine diva of the culinary cozy returns with a crime novel that will have fans of Goldy Bear Schulz, caterer and caffeinated sleuth, cheering as they race for the nearest pastry shop. The 12th carb-laden installment of Goldy's adventures (Chopping Spree, etc.) offers as its main course a toothsome corpse du jour: Goldy's abusive ex-husband, Dr. John Richard Korman ("the Jerk"), whose shenanigans have annoyed a long-suffering Goldy and enlivened Davidson's series since its debut 14 years ago. After Goldy arrives at her new catering center to prepare for a memorial luncheon, she's attacked; when she comes to, she discovers that her kitchen is full of spoiled food and overrun with mice. She immediately suspects her longtime nemesis Korman, who's out of prison after serving less than a year for aggravated assault and living lavishly in Aspen Meadows with Sandee Blue, his "fifty-fourth conquest"a young stripper, according to his other ex, Marla, Goldy's entertaining sidekick...
This [novel] marks a turning point for Davidson, as the elimination of Korman provides a much needed jolt to the series. Her latest noir-flavored cozy may attract new readers to a sleuth who feverishly cooks through any crisis and whose recipes are now gathered at the back of the book. (Warning: do not read on an empty stomach!)

Another good Goldy S. book. Surprises to the end.
New characters and old in Colorado.
New characters and old in Colorado.
I love this series. I originally started reading it because it takes place in Colorado. After the first book I ead I was hooked. I have even tried some of the recipes that are included... pretty good as well.
Another great book - this one was very interesting with the murder of Goldy's terrible ex-husband.
Someone has taken great pains to sabotage Goldy's latest culinary endeavor, a post-funeral reception for a friend at a local lodge. Could it be her ex-husband, Dr. John Richard Korman (aka "The Jerk"? With the discovery of a fresh corpse, virtually everyone believes Goldy is guilty!
Goldy again finds herself in a pickle. She always finds her man/woman. A nice read.
Another Caterer Goldy Schultz mystery involving her ex-husband found dead.
The governor of Colorado has commuted the prison sentence of Goldy Schulz's ultra-handsome, ultra-charming, ultra-wealthy, ultra-venal ex-husband, Dr. John Richard Korman, otherwise known to Goldy as the Jerk. He's released, and soon afterward Goldy becomes the victim of threats, rumors, and violence.
Then there's a murder and suspicion centers on Goldy. Suddenly, she is faced with the challenge of running her successful catering business while fending off two persistent detectives.
Caught in a web of secrets and lies that can tear her family apart, Goldy must use all of her considerable powers of detection to find the real killer before she herself becomes a target.
