didn't care for this and didn't finish

It started out kind of slow/boring but I stuck with it and then it started to finally get into the story of the sucidies and then it started jumping around to this and that and kinky sex and it seems to be several stories and maybe they all hook up somewhere along the line but by midway through I got bored with all of it.

Seventh volume of Vachss's "Burke" books, it continues the themes that dominate the series, primarily abuse and exploitation. Although not the strongest of the novels, it widens Burke's circle of acquaintances and certainly delivers what a fan of the series wants.

Personally, I found the depictions of the BDSM world to be closed minded and uncomplimentary - what I would expect from a writer outside that "scene". Overall, however, the book was an enjoyable read and is recommended for fans of the previous Burke novels who are working their way through the series.
