Vn Eekhout brings it back to a heist novel, which is cool. There's always going to be a flaw in the plans. I liked seeing Gabriel and Max, and I'm glad Moth and Cassandra were back too. I had a bit more trouble believing Daniel could pull off the impersonation of his golem brother with people who knew him well, at least there were some indications of doubt there. I had a lot more trouble with Sam inside the dragon...that wasn't my mental picture of what would happen when Sam sacrificed himself and so I struggled with it the entire time. And what was with Annabel and the giant? I couldn't really grasp what Van Eekhout's explanation there. Ah well, still a very good imaginative trilogy with a solid ending, and enough bits left over that there could be more if the author chose.
