I enjoyed this sequel, but not as much as I expected to... The villains were certainly nefarious, and who doesn't love a good WWII connection? But for some reason, I found this book's pacing to be off, somewhat slower. And the plot was a lot more predictable than _Patient Zero_'s. The end was satisfying, and while I am looking forward to seeing what Maberry creates next, I'm not dying till it's October. I wish I could pinpoint what exactly it was about this book that slowed it down, because I really enjoyed so many elements of it. The characters were all believable and, for the most part, likable. The science stuff was really neat, but I guess I wanted the end to have tied up more of the repercussions...
Still, I will definitely be keeping up with the series, and I am curious to see what supervillains Maberry creates next for Joe Ledger to defeat.
