A good read. When I first picked up this book I was lost because most books have humans as the main characters with elves, fairies, hags, and other mythical creatures being secondary to the story line. Not this book. The main character is the mutt equivalent of a magical creature with forest elf, stone creature, and all other types of magical creatures in his bloodline. In this world humans are rare and are used to pilot the metal dragons since they are the only ones who can stand to be near the iron the dragons are made. Set in the elven equivalent of New York City it is a conned or be conned world with the only way to survive is tricking and cheating your way to the top. Not your usual fairytale story.
