Only 86 pages long, it is a good introduction to Kenyon, if you have never read her before. "Fun, sexy and fantastically different" is says on the back cover and as with all Kenyon's books, that is true. A legendary dragon tapestry, an unnaturally handsome man who claims to be a dragon slayer trapped between worlds, and Channon, an Old English scholar determined to uncover the secrets of the tapestry she has been translating for years.

This was a pretty good read. I was afraid I wouldn’t like it at first because the beginning started out kind of sappy: Channon kept insisting, “I never do this kind of thing”, when she brought Sebastian home that night after just meeting him. Then she went on and on about how gorgeous he was for like 3 pages… alright, I get it already, the dude’s a hunk! Fortunately, the whole story didn’t continue in this vein and after they returned to Sebastian’s “home”, the action picked up. For a short 86 page story, there was a good amount of intrigue, history, and action. Though I’d classify it primarily as a romance of course, there was enough other stuff to it that it gets a thumbs up from me! :)

Plot Summary: A modern day woman meets a dragon shifter from another time. Romance and Sex ensue. This is a short book (86 pages).
Main Characters: Sebastian (hero): sexy, standard hero except for his sense of humor which is very good. And the fact that he is a dragon shifter. Channon (heroine): self described as average in appearance; intelligent, competent heroine. Impulsive but in a good romantic way.
Best About this Book: A quick romantic love story. For the number of pages, quite a bit of story is packed in. My favorite thing was probably the sense of humor: this book had several funny parts.
Worst About this Book: Because it is so short everything happens fast. Very fast. This isn't necessarily a downside but their attraction to each other did seem to be primarily physical rather than having more depth. Also, this book hit my pet peeve in romance: talk of/ having kids. Nothing against kids, I have three myself. All the more reason to enjoy fantasies that allow me a breather from thinking about kids! And they talk about it within 24 hours.
Summary: Despite the downsides this was an entertaining read. I enjoyed it while I read it, appreciated the laughs, but am happily passing it on. Not a keeper for me.

This very short story is charming. I would categorize it as a romance. Honestly I can't say too much about it because it would give it all away (since it's so short). This was a fun, romantic and humorous read. Very sweet.

It was very good, but too short! I wanted more.

Just because this was a short story does not mean that it was a bad one. I thought that it was a good one with great characters. The story had romance, action and intrigue - a great combination with a good story line. I do wish that the story was longer, as I would have liked to get to know these characters better, but I still feel like I got to know them.

Charming short short story with similar story lines of the Dark Hunter Series. Only 86 pages.

A small story taken from an anthology "Tapestry". I had to buy this little book because it was part to in the Dar Hunter series.

This book is included in the book Tapestry ISBN 9780515133622 that is usually available (or the wish list wait is very short).

DIdn't realize it when I got this it was a "mini" book, however Sherrilyn packs a punch in a short space. Would like to read a full version of this. She stays true to the Katagaria/Arcadia theme only with a new family, the dragons.

Nice. It adds an extra dimension to the overall series.
Great quick read. 86 pages
Short book - less than 100 pages - but good and steamy in Kenyon style.
This is one of Kenyon's best books.
A special collectors-edition tale of unexpected passion woven from the mysteries of a celebrated ancient tapestry.
Nice quick read.
Mysterious tapestry leads to an alternate world.
small book. quick read
Just discovered Sherrilyn Kenyon and her Dark Hunter series and I am really enjoying her books!

I loved it, but it really should've been published as part of an anthology, as it's really short. Only for die-hard fans of Sherrilyn Kenyon, otherwise you'll feel gypped at having used up a credit for a short story. However, if you love the Dark Hunter series (which I do), you'll love this. Sebastian is HOT HOT HOT!!!
Way too short, but a great book anyway. So good I read it in no time at all.
Quite a sexy and sweet novella, building on the Dark Hunter legecy from Sherrilyn. I'm reading them according to the order she posted on her website and I'm liking the Dark Hunter series so far. Unusual and interesting characters and fun, wild plots. On to Night Pleasures.

Short but good. I would say this is a prelude to the dark hunters.
cute,funny, quick read
Very fun novella!
Short but good.
It is certainly short, but I little too shallow. I would have rather read a longer book on these too characters.
Read it in just a couple hours, but it was good. Made you want more to the story, but it didn't leave you hanging.
I'm new to the Dark-Hunter series and I really enjoyed this novella. Although it might have been nice to get a little more in depth with the story and characters, overall it was a great way to spend an hour or two.
This is what is on the cover:
Beautiful scholar Channon MacRea has spent years studying the legendary Dragon Tapestry, devoting days and nights to deciphering the impenetrable Old English symbolism. Then one evening the unnaturally handsome Sebastian appears. He claims to hold the key to solving the tapestry's mysteries. Bearing magnificently taut and tanned flesh marked by intriguing scars of battle, he also claims to be a dragon slayer trapped between two worlds. For Channon there's only one way to finally uncover the secrets of the intricate embroidery-by following the seductive stranger into a fantastic alternate world of magic, danger, and erotic adventure.
And this is the 96 pages in short:
For Sebastian the one night of passion turns bad as he finds Channon to be his true mate, and leaves him wit the dilemma of claming her or not, but either way putting her into deadly danger. He sweeps her to the past with the stolen tapestry his sister has made, which is a random for his brothers life. There Chanon finds the tapestry to be a record how Sebastians species was born and cursed by Gods. When his father the king, married a girl from cursed people she gave him 2 sons. But she died horribly at 27. So the father desperate to save his sons he made experiments on his wifes people, combined them with animals and magic. But his meddling had a side affect. His sons received long life from their joining and had human heart, but the by-product was another being, with the heart of an animal, when the Gods ordered him to kill the inhuman heartless by product. He refused and thus, Gods cursed his sons. Sebastian was the guardian, (sentinel) of his people, slaying the evil dragons. Tricked he fail to save his sister and was banished by his people. His only thought was to kill the ones responsible for the death of his sister. When he learns that his brother has been captured he doesnt hesitate to exchange the tapestry for his life. But even as his brother escapes his captors the last 3 evil dragons find his mate and threaten her life. He battles them and kills them even as he is poisoned. The only thing to save him is if his mate wilily claims him in an ancient ritual.
Book was good, had a lot of potential, which was not tapped into. It was VERY short.

hot like all the rest of the dark huner series
Not the best of this series of books, and it was really really little (not many pages), but still was good. Only took me about an hour to read it. The more books Ms. Kenyon writes in the dark hunter series, the better they get. Keep em' coming! I Love this series. I've read them all and have started to re-read them again. There's so much more that you catch the second time around.
As with all of The Dark Hunter books, this was a great read!
I kept thinking when I was reading this it sounded familiar...finally figured out this little gem is also in the Tapestry anthology. Definitely worth reading again, though.
Sherrilyn is my favorite author...nuff said.
Channon MacRea meets the Dragonslayer and begins the adventure of her life.
Not nearly as good as the rest of the series...barely even a concept for a story...weird sort of thrown off, "oh, here's something that I thought of, but couldn't be bothered to flesh out properly." Poor character development with poor explanation as to why these two like one another. Just plain dumb.
Channon MacRea's story. Very short. Hot.
I was expecting a fantasy novel with a bit of romance. This "book" is very short! And I would classify it as erotica with a bit of fantasy thrown in.
A great but very short story in Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series.
Nice short story.
loved it.it's a thin book ,only 86 pages
Love her books, this one too. Only thing was it was way too short.
Sexy & Fun little read.
Short but good!
I lOVED THIS BOOK! Just wish it had been longer:(
A very SHORT book, only 86 pages, but as usual a very enjoyable read, but then I am partial to dragons anyway....:) it is the story of Channon MacRae and Sebastian Kattalakis, and as we all know, those Kattalakis men are devastating...mmmmmmm!
Enjoyed reading it!
Sexy tale! I hadn't read this before when it was in Tapestry so I was very excited to get it on my own. Highly recommend reading all the books!
This one has Sebastian, a incredibly hot man bearing scars of battle, interupting anthropologist Channon from studying an ancient tapestry. Since its a Kenyon book you should know it has hot love, and a sweet forever after tale!

Amusing Sherrily Kenyon story, but very short (86 pages).
This is a good story. For a small book it packs a punch.
Great book!
Short (86 pgs) addition to the Dark Hunter series.

sexy romance about a shape shifter, dragon-I liked it-quick read
short book but very enjoyable . . . wish there were more in this series (dragons)
I LOVE anything she writes!!!
A short story in Kenyon's series on Arcadian/Katagaria relationships. This one deals with a Dragon Sentinel who finds himself mated to a professor studying a legendary Dragon Tapestry. She ends up saving him from himself.
Dr. Channon Kattalakis is really a brilliant researcher at the museum. She finds through time-travel and an incredible tapestry she writes a beautiful Paper, called "The Myth of the Dragon" snf meets her REAL knight, Sebastian, Sir Dragon-Knight. It is a romantic, action-packed paranormal read, like Kenyon's other books. GREAT!
nice short. Was originally part of the Tapestry anthology.
Veeeery nice.
A great quick read!!! Quite the unusual romance with dragons and time travel.
According to the author's website, she lists this as the 3rd story in the Dark Hunter series. Be forewarned that this is a short story (86 pgs.) that was previously published in 2002 in the anthology "Tapestry". Good story -- sets some background info for "Night Embrace".
Beautiful scholar Channon MacRea has spent years studying a legendary Dragon Tapestry, then one evening the unnaturally handsome Sebastian appers!
good, but only 86 pages long
This is a short (86 pages) book. Very nice, entertaining, quick read. Good if you enjoy any of the preternatural type romance novels.
This first paranormal romance of this magnitude that I've read. I mean she mates with a Dragon Slayer! Great book!
Signature Kenyon...but waaaaaaaay too short!
Took me about 15 minutes to read this one, and I have to admit this isn't my fav. but its a must have for my DH collection... still worth the credit!!!
Romance/Mystery
Shorter than her normal books!
great book awesome condition
