I got an eGalley of this book from NetGalley to review. I really loved the Fablehaven series and was excited to hear that there was going to be an extension of this series. The book ended up being okay, it was good but didn't blow me away. I think maybe I've been away from these characters too long.

The bulk of the story basically involves Kendra and Seth being forced to take over as keepers for the Wyrmroost sanctuary. It was an interesting story and I enjoyed learning more about the dragons. All of our favorite characters were back in the story which was fun to see.

Unfortunately I kept having trouble staying engaged in the story and constantly found my mind wandering. I am not sure if I am just older and don't enjoy the tone of these books as much or if the storyline just wasn't as exciting as previous books; but I did struggle a bit to finish this.

Overall this was a decent continuation of the Fablehaven series. I didn't like this as much as previous Fablehaven books but there were some parts with the dragons that were interesting. I guess I would recommend reading if you are a fan of the original series. I don't think this book stands alone very well, so I would recommend reading the original Fablehaven books first.
