I enjoyed this book about Molly Blume, a crime writer for The Crime Sheet. Molly has found out about some bitter feuding going on between residents of an L.A. neighborhood, some of whom want to restore their homes to meet the standards of the original architecture, and others who want to just remodel their homes to their own liking. Vandalism starts to happen, but as this feud goes on, an elderly man is killed in a fire in his home before he is able to find his missing daughter. It's now more than a neighborhood dispute. I really enjoyed this book, and I love the character of Molly Blume.
While developing a story about vandalized homes in one of LA's ritziest enclaves. Crime Street columnist Molly Blume discovers a seething conflict brewing between residents who want to remodel their houses and those who wish to restore the integrity of the historic neighborhood. When the warring factions collide, Molly investigates - ultimately to arson, and the tragic death of an elderly man who has spent the last five months searching for his missing daughter. Was the fire an accident? Where does hostility end and evil begin?
