Only when Marcus picked up a copy of her fathers latest novel did premonition strike her. Clifton York left her mother when Laurel was a small child, and she had never heard from him since. The trip down the florida keys set the stage for all that awaited her in Key West's Old Town- intrigue that involved a sunken treasure, mopdern piracy, and a burgeoning new love. Clifton York left his wife and daughter when Laurel was a small child. She hs fed her anger by reading his books and following his career, keeping old pain alive. Now a fried of her father's tells her he has an urgent need for his eldest daughter and there might not be much time left for him. Very good book.

A stranger stops in Laurel's bookstore and asks her to go and visit her father in Key West. Her dad walked out on his wife and child to marry another woman and Laurel's deceased mom taught her daughter to hate the man. Laurel has always wondered about him. He is a famous author and she has read all his books. She decides to go and finds she has two half sisters and a mystery surrounding the death of their mother who died in the orchid house on their property. Include a treasure hunter and modern day pirates, and you have a lot of mysteries for Laurel to solve.
