The 4th book in the "Tending Roses" series, is the first one where most of the action takes place away from the farm and Hindsville -- in Kansas City where Karen and James have settled with Dell Jordan. While Dell features prominently in the book, the story is really about her guidance counselor at her new school. Insightful and heartwarming, and a decent read.
I loved this book it is another of Lisa Wingate's Tending Roses Series and each one is a hard to put down book that follows Dell and her family thru the ups and downs of life.. I can't wait to read the next one in line..
So good! I have loved the Tending Roses series by Lisa Wingate. Highly recommended!
This was an interesting story about the relationship between a guidance counseler and a student and how the student's life experiences parallel her own.
God story!! Like Lisa's books!!
The continuing story of Dell, the orphan child we met in Tending Roses and Language of the Sycamores. She is now the foster child of Karen and attending the prestigious Harrington School for the arts. People are aware of her talents in voice and music, but she is far behind in English, math and science. Julia is the new guidance counselor, with a whole background story of her own. She takes an interest in Dell, knowing what she is going through being completely out of her element. Interesting look at the drug use that goes on with the privileged students, and how one woman stands up for what she believes. I am now looking forward to the next book, A Thousand Voices, which I think deals with Dell in later years! I'm a HUGE Lisa Wingate fan!!
Once a gifted ballet dancer, Julia Costell buckled under the demands of a professional dance career, and has landed with a thud in an unglamorous job as a guidance counselor at a performing arts high schoool. Living back home with her parents and feeling lost, she is afraid she'll never soar again...until the day young Dell Jordan is sent to her office, carrying an essay.
