It might be a little harder to get inside these 2 PIs heads as it might be in some books, but the storylines are intense, violent, and gruesome. I especially liked Darkness Take My Hand. There isn't a lot to identify with in any of the characters, in fact sometimes the good guys are hard to tell from the bad guys. But you will not put down the book and immediately forget about it. I can't wait to read the next one.

This author is a great story teller and has become my favorite author. I had to buy the rest of the series, as well as his other books. I know that "Gone Baby Gone" was made into a movie; I think the characters of Angie Gennaro and Patrick Kenzie would make a great series on cable. I highly recommend this to anyone that likes great story telling.
