A wealthy, self-made man with a horrific past turned reluctant duke; I love heroes like Nicholas Lyon. His tortured childhood made him painfully vulnerable when he returned to his family's country estate, but he gradually found a safe haven in his very capable and charming steward, Mina Thorne. A straightforward and satisfying romance (sexy bits included) without the complications of annoying misunderstandings and pointless self-sacrifices. 4 stars.
