I really enjoyed this book! The characters were great and I enjoyed the story line. Enough of mystery to keep me on my toes!

Not a terribly compelling story. Told all in third person.

I'm a Jane Green fan but this book disappointed me. It was boring. The characters were rather flat in personality, the plot and character actions seemed contrived and too many things just happened to fall into place.
I got the idea that she was thinking "hey, I'm the writer" so I can put this piece here and this piece right next to it and force them to fit together. Nope.
Not to mention, and very major pet peave of mine, is that since she is writing about Americans and putting an American "voice" with the story then she needs to have the "lingo" correct. It was very weird to hear the British terminology she used and was rather out of place. As an editor myself, I'm thinking her editors should have caught that disparity.
Beach Road was such a treat that I was expecting a whole lot more from her.

This book had been on my Wish List for at least 8 months, so I was really excited to receive the notice that it had been mailed and was on its' way to me. I really don't like writing negative reviews, however, I was very disappointed in this one!
The characters were at times annoying. I just couldn't 'warm up' or relate to any of them. The author's writing style just felt kind of 'blah,' which surprised me as I've read other books by Jane Green and enjoyed them! I felt that certain important scenes lacked the emotion that should have been described more in detail and it left me feeling like someone other than the author must have written it.

Honestly, This is my least favorite book by one of my favorite authors. Entirely too many characters, none with any redeeming qualities to be able to connect with on a personal level, with the exception of Kit. It seemed like it was building to some overly dramatic ending that ended with just nothing. Nothing exceptional. Although, there must have been something intriguing enough to finish it, I did want to see how it ended, so in that sense it did pull me in. But only to be letdown.
I thought I would be the only one who didn't care for this one! I usually love Jane Green but this book seemed so monotone the whole way though. I got 3/4 of the way through it and wondered if anything was going to happen to actually tell a story.
This is the first book I've read by this author. The story was interesting with alittle twist at the end. I look forward to reading more of her books.
Nice easy read if you enjoy Jane Green books this is a good.
I was disappointed with this book. I have read several of Jane Green's books and have really enjoyed them. I didn't like the characters in this book and felt like it was all a little overdone.
I am a huge Jane Green fan! Although not her best, nothing has competed with Jemima J, but still a good read! I think this one was missing the "laugh out loud" factor that I love in Jane Green. I would still recommend reading this one. It still takes you to another place, away from your everyday, and pulls you into the story. I stayed up late to finish!
Nice summer read.
jane green is one of my favorite authors and her books have really changed over the years. she has grown a lot in her writing, and her boks are not more bout grown women and couples- not the typical twenties girl chick lit. i like them, but i do miss her fluffy stuff! this was a good book, but it didnt get really juicy until the ending. stick with it if you have a hard time!
Definitely not Jane Green's best effort. Several concurrent plot lines are interwoven in Dune Road.Newly divorced Kit Hargrove is putting her life back together post divorce, and working as an assistant for the reclusive author, Robert McClore. A long lost sister enters into the mix, and several of Kit's friends are impacted by the Wall Street collapse of 2008. Add to the mix a grandmotherly type neighbor, domestic abuse, and secrets, lots of secrets. The ending seemed a bit of a stretch, tying all these disparate elements together.
enjoyed this light-hearted novel. She is always able to put a smile on my face!
I really enjoyed this book.I do love stories about relationships between women friends. Jane Green had an odd style of writing, I felt. Almost like she was narrating the story instead of telling it. Maybe it's a British thing. Anyway, I loved the characters, each with their own stories and secrets, and it took me a while to figure some things out. But a nice story!
