Has anyone read anything by him?  I was on another website where Science Fiction Masterworks was mentioned.  I looked it up and while he wasn't on the science fiction top 50 list, he was on the fantasy one -twice-  and I'd never heard of him.  What book would you recommend?

E R Eddison is a precursor to Tolkein.  The Worm Ouroboros is a masterpiece but it's NOT an easy read.  But it's full of wonderful, sweeping, epic prose.  His other two books are not as good and actually the 3rd was published after his death unfinished.

Thanks!  I ordered The Worm Ouroboros.  I'll see if I can get through it.
