Eagle Strike - Alex Rider, Bk 4 Author:Anthony Horowitz After a chance encounter with assassin Yassen Gregorovich in the South of France, teenage spy Alex Rider investigates international pop star and philanthropist Damian Cray whose new video game venture hides sinister motives involving Air Force One, nuclear missiles, and the international drug trade.
The fourth book in the Alex Rider series sends this teen version of James Bond out on his own. After his girlfriend's journalist father is almost killed, Alex discovers a link between him and the world's best loved eco-activist rock star (I think Bono should read this one). How is this world renowned philanthropist connected with that reporter's near-death experience? Alex is determined to find out. And, when MI6 refuses to help him, he goes out alone..........Another enjoyable adventure novel for young adults. And, though I'm not so young any more, I found myself rooting for the good guys as they, once again, go against the odds in an all-out attempt to save the world from someone who, in this case, wants to save the world!?!
my 11-year-old son really likes this series. There's action and intrigue, a little bit of violence; all the things boys like. He would recommend this book and this series.
