This book is fabulous. One of my favorite regencies of all time. It is on my keeper shelf and will stay there.

Amy and Joss are a wonderful couple and Nicola Cornick does an amazing job with their dialogue. Their sparring and encounters really allow the reader to see how their relationship grows and deepens over time. The secondary characters (particularly Joss' sister and Amy's best friend) really help to push the plot forward, but in a believable manner.

I thought the lottery ticket, particularly when combined with Amy's background, was a really creative concept on Cornick's part. This book made me fall in love with Cornick's work and I have read 5 of her books since I this one. However, The Earl's Prize remains my favorite and I read it repeatedly.

One of my favorite books in the early works of Nicola Cornick. Both strong lead characters. No scandal. No angst. Just a good solid love story, against all odds.
