This is only my second Parker "Spenser" book and my last. Obviously, a lot of people like the "Spenser" series, but it's not to my taste. "Spenser for Hire" was a TV series for three seasons. Perhaps that is why I didn't like the two books. They read like a TV show, chewing gum for the mind.

Spenser "adopts" a son. Or is it Parker's effort to reform a looser, successfully by the way. Interesting.
