Interesting little book. Good to flip through and find your local haunts. Actually seeing the calorie counts for foods you eat all the time will frighten you. This book offers alternatives at common restaurants that are better options. There are also many pages comparing similar foods-snacks, frozen meals, cereals, etc while at the supermarket. The problem is that often the "preferred" option has more sodium, sugar, etc than the other option so it really depends on what you are trying to limit more in your diet, or in this case, in your child's diet. These authors have a free "Eat this, Not that" weekly online newsletter through Men's Health Magazine that compares different items and products. Definitely worth a look!

A simple illustrated guide to thousands of fast food choices and the true nutritional value-geared towards children's meals. It offers high calorie meals and better choices on the same menu from many different restaurants. Keep it in the car and glance through to pick out a healthier meal!(Published in 2008-I just didn't see the For Kids label)
