Exceptionally well written and translated debut crime novel that reads like literary fiction. This is a new author for me, and I was very impressed. The story of a child that goes missing takes place on Oland island off the coast of Sweden. The mother's sense of loss and inability to come to grips with her son's disappearance is felt viscerally. The who and why of the crime kept me guessing until the end. Very, very highly recommend.
