This is an interesting vegan cookbook.Apparently, Pikarski was the first person to win the Culinary Olympics with vegan food. I've tried a number of these recipes, and really enjoyed them. They are very different, use a wide variety of ingredients, and turn out pretty well. You may need to tweak them the seasonings a little, but overall, I was pleased enough to get another copy for my mother. If the idea of agar or nutritional yeast bothers you, then skip it. If you're wanting to expand your cooking horizons, this is an excellent choice.
