Some "princess" needed protecting, and her father only wanted the best; grudgingly, Nolan agreed to help. Demons from his days as a Ranger haunt his dreams and soon the dreams include Jillian. Nolan has already lost too many who were close to him, thus creates a mental image of Jillian being a weak, spoiled-rotten, self-centered, daddy's girl. Self-assured, compassionate, hardworking Jillian soon shatters that image and Nolan finds himself falling for her.
Just when I was afraid TO THE EDGE would hit a sagging middle, Cindy Gerard threw in a twist I hadn't expected and revved up the speed. Toward the end when I was in the swing of things, thinking the novel would wind down, Ms. Gerard threw in another twist that hyped me up again. Watching Jillian and Nolan fight their attraction for each other while they searched for the identity of the stalker was sexual tension at the highest.

Jillian Kincaid grew up in a wealthy family with body guards and hated it. She's now a successful TV anchor woman and has been receiving death threats and has to accept the body guard services of Nolan Garrett. Mystery, romance and suspense are intertwined in the story line.

Jilliam Kincaid is a TV anchor who is receiving death threats. Her father hires her a bodyguard named Nolan Garrett, a former Ranger trained in Special Ops. The two characters have great chemistry, compelling stories in their lives and they make this a fun book to read. I couldn't put it down once I started it. It was a surprise to the end on who the stalker was!

Nolan Garrett is just doing a favor for his family's business by taking the bodyguard job. He has no interest in guarding a spoiled rich girl. But Jillian is nothing like he expects. She is independent, smart and sexy, and isn't going to let a stalker slow her down.

He will do anything to keep Jillian alive, but believes, based on his past, he may not be the right person for the job. This story was light on suspense until the last 1/3 of the book. The romance was a bit slow and repetitive. I wish the author would have worked more on the stalker portion of the story. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
