4th book in FBI series. Very good reading.
Great Story, fast paced, with lots of twists. Highly recommended.
Good, good story!
A fast-paced thriller. Full of surprises...slam-bang heroism. Good page-turning...Coulter keeps serving up adventure, intrigue, and romance until the very end. A tighly woven plot.
FBI agent Mac dreams his medical research sister drives her porsche off a cliff. Only it is true and he feels he is with her when it happens. Savich and Sherlock ride shotgun to help Mac figure it out
Very good read..Mac first was in The Maze and here he is looking for his sister and finds that she was almost killed in a car accident and now she is missing....a local man is killed and now the circle must be broken and Mac doesn't know how or where to start.
If you remember, Ford MacDougal(Mac) first appeared in The Maze, at Quantico with Sherlock. Now Mac is flat on his back at Bethesda, seriously wounded in a terrorist car bombing when he dreams that his sister, Jilly, a medical reseacher, drives her Porsche off an Oregon cliff. Only thing is, Mac feels like he's wtih her.
When Mac arrives in Oregon to find out what's going on, Jilly comes out of her coma, only to disappear a few hours later without a trace. In searching for her, Mac hears a different story from everyone he encounters, even from the local sheriff. And then there is Laura...a woman who fascinates him, a woman who could kill him if he trusts her.
When a local old man is murdered, Mac doesn't at first suspect taht the case connects to this siter's disappearence. FBI agents Savich and Serlock (last seen in The Target) join Mac to ride shotgun. Not knowing whom to trust and whom to suspect, they must escape relentless pursuers before unearthing the tentacles of evil undermining The Edge.
I hope you enjoy this fourth book in the FBI series. Mac is one of my very favorite people.

A fast-paced thriller.
Good book with lot's of excitment.
Really good read!
The best in the FBI series so far
Was very good, kept my interest to the very end
Another great FBI novel by Catherine couldn't put it down.
I have enjoyed most of Coulter's FBI series. It is fun to see the characters explored in the different novels, and to find a different piece of the puzzle in each book.
This is part of Coutlter's FBI series- I like all of Coulter's Romantic suspense books- always fast paced, suspenseful and keeps turning the pages!
A great read !!!
A thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.
Great book especially if you love Catherine Coulter.
The 4th of the FBI Series.
I admit to being a fan of Catherine Coulters FBI series. I find the books interesting, thrilling, and she adds a bit of humor in her writing.
The fourth book in the FBI series. very good read.

FBI series
Great book. Ever expected what happened at the end of the book.
While recovering from a bomb blast, FBI counter-terrorist expert Ford MacDougal dreams that his sister Jilly is driving her Porsche wildly down the coast road when she goes over a cliff and into the ocean. The following morning, Mac learns that the accident was realand that Jilly is in a coma.
Despite his own injuries, Mac flies out to Oregon to be with his sister and investigate the situation. He cant believe that Jilly tried to commit suicide, but the evidence points that way. In his dream, Jilly was also screaming about Laura betraying her referring to Laura Scott a librarian.
When Mac meets her, hes in for a surprise, for she isnt who she seems. Jilly rallies from her coma only to disappear the next day. When Laura and Mac are nearly killed by a drug overdose, they realize someones trying to murder Laura. What is going on in this sleepy little town?

Already ordered the rest of her books. outstanding reading material.
Another in the FBI series just as interesting as the first three.
Still reading Catherine Coulter's books as the first book I read was #3 in the FBI series "The Target" which was phenomenal. After reading "The Target", I thought all of her books were going to be of that caliber so went out and purchased more in the series, and now have read 1,2,and 4 along with "The Target" (3). This being #4 "The Edge" I found her prose to be similar to books 1 and 2. The author likes to make comments that really divert from the dialouge and the telling of the story. I don't know if she is trying to be funny or add something, in any case it just doesn't work for me. I do think her characters could be great if she didn't try to insert these quirky comments that distract or take away from the story! In this story the main character Ford MacDougal an FBI agent calls for help in solving the mystery of why his sister Jilly ran off a cliff in her porsche in Jilly's hometown of Edgerton, OR. The Agents he calls in for support are characters that we were introduced to in books one and two, FBI agents Savich and Sherlock. The mystery does pick up pace when all the FBI agents and a DEA agent Laura are kidnapped and taken to a mysterious place and find themselves detained and restrained. The pace quickens as they manage an escape and are being followed into a jungle. Sadly towards the end Ms Coulter ties up loose ends quickly and to me in a sloppy way, almost seeming she reached a page limit, and had to shut the story down in a hurry to give you all the answers to the mystery in a lump sum. As I have mentioned before if you want to try her mysteries start with book #3 which was a gem, and then decide if you want to continue on. For me I have bought several in the series, so all I can hope for is that she will return to the level of writing she gave us in book #3 "The Target"!!
Excellent. I love Coulter's style.
Another great FBI thriller.....
a fast-paced thriller. a very good read
A good read!
I love all of Catherine Coulter's books.
Excellent. One of the best of the FBI series.
This is the fourth book in the FBI series featuring Mac.
fast paced thriller... need I say more?
Like Jilly Bartlett, who drives her white Porsche off an Oregon cliff in the prologue, Coulter (The Target) has an uncertain hand on the wheel of her rambling thriller. FBI agent Ford "Mac" MacDouglas, Jilly's brother, is a tough-but-tenderhearted protagonist unraveling the mystery surrounding his sister's plungeAwith frequent interruptions for sex and violent surprises. Jilly, a brilliant chemist, survives the accident (or is it a suicide attempt?), only to disappear upon awaking from a four-day coma, leaving Mac with some vexing questions. What kind of drug have Jilly and her unpleasant scientist husband, Paul, developedAa fountain of youth, a wild libido enhancer, a fertility drug, a memory-eraser, or all of the above? Why is Jilly deathly afraid of beautiful Laura Scott, who's ostensibly a reclusive research librarian but obviously far too street smart to play that role convincingly? Who killed retired cop Charlie Duck? Coulter risks exasperating her readersAwho may tire of the relentless questions this book raises in increasingly heavy dosesAwith excessive and transparent collusions; it turns out that the highway patrolman who rescues Jilly has ties to sheriff Maggie Sheffield, and that Sheffield is the ex-wife of a detective. The intrigue doesn't really add up to much, whether the action is taking place amid flowing champagne in the Edgeworth, Ore., home of wealthy evildoer Alyssum Tarcher or in the rain forest of Costa Rica where Mac and Laura are whisked, after being gassed, then drugged. Coulter, who made her name writing historical romances before shifting into modern suspense mode, packs her newest tale with an overabundance of perilous contrivances, and for the most part, between drug cartel kidnappers and love on the lam, the plot buckles under its own weight.
