The author has brought to life ordinary people who lost everything in the depression. It will cause you to look into your own family histories and try to fill in the blanks. This is 1935 in Troutdale Oregon, outside of Portland where Edgefield exists now as a fine venue, restored with it's vegetable farms, small golf course, swimming, restaurant. The actual rooms in the poor house where Margaret Mary was committed in 1935, complete with historical photos in the hallways. Part of the McMenamins chain in Oregon and Washington.
