This is a fast paced and sweetly sad story of an amazingly boring woman. For anyone who has ever spent a whole night alone, wondering if anyone was going to come over to hang out, you'll understand completely how she feels.
Coupland's ability to get Liz's feelings across with words is outrageous and refreshing. At no point did I wonder what the characters were feeling.

The only problem with this story is it is hard a times to understand how the time line works, but at the end it all comes together.
I loved this book and recommend it to all.

I couldn't put this book down, once I picked it up. I wasn't sure I'd like it after reading jPod. But, Copeland really restrains himself in this one and focusing on a really great character. And...there is actually a happy ending!

Sometimes it got a little annoying that he would interrupt a good story line o flash back to another bit on a previous story. I became accustomed to it and enjoyed the story immensely!

Douglas Coupland is one of my favorite authors and Eleanor Rigby ranks among my top 3 of his books. This is an intriguing story of a lonely woman who is soon reunited with someone from her past that leads her on a strange journey of building relationships she hadn't imagined, pushing her beyond her small condo and mediocre career. Filled with wit and unxpected surprises, Eleanor Rigby is a fun, quirky read that kept me wanting more.

A book about a seemingly ordinary/dull and lonely woman whose life changes one night when events from her past catch up with her.

There are some typical Coupland themes here such as biotechnology (although not as prominent as in All Families are Psychotic) and spirituality/visions.
